Ilia has over 10 years experience practicing as a psychologists. Her degrees, trainings, experiences and personality contributed in her success as a senior psychologist over the years. Her clients find her a calm, compassionate, warm and friendly psychologist. She is an open-minded and sympathetic psychologist who has excellent communication skills. She provides clients with an accepting and comfortable atmosphere to share their concerns.

Being bilingual (English & Farsi) enables her to communicate with more than just English speaking people. Ilia was brought up in the Middle East. Therefore, she is familiar with various Eastern and Middle Eastern cultures as well as Western culture. Ilia has had unique and remarkable life experiences as an immigrant and a victim of domestic violence. She had overcome her life challenges and is a stronger woman who is ready to use her life lessons as well as psychology knowledge and skills to help her clients improve their lives.

Negar is a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapy Assistant (AHA) with a rich background of 25 years, specialising in paediatrics, mainly working with children diagnosed with Attention-Deficit-Hyperactivity-Disorder (AD/HD) and autism. She holds a PhD in Occupational Therapy (OT) from Deakin University, where her research focused on children with AD/HD. Her academic journey also includes a Master’s degree in rehabilitation, psychology, and training of exceptional children from Azad University, Iran, and a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences.

Negar’s career encompasses various roles in clinical practice, education, and research. She has provided hands-on occupational therapy support in multiple paediatric settings. Her clinical experience is complemented by volunteer work at different institutions. These roles allowed her to contribute significantly to the well-being of children with diverse needs, particularly those on the autism spectrum.

In her role, Negar actively collaborates with occupational therapists to support clients in achieving their therapeutic goals. She also assists psychologists in writing and preparing reports for various organisations, including the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), ensuring comprehensive and detailed documentation to facilitate effective service delivery.

Beyond clinical work, Negar has been an educator and mentor, serving as a sessional staff member at Deakin University. She has conducted assessments, guided students, and facilitated workshops on OT units involving statistics, neurology and anatomy. Her contribution to the academic community also includes supervising PhD and Master’s level OT students from Iranian Medical Universities.

Negar’s research expertise is demonstrated by her publications, including several ISI-indexed articles. She has presented her research at both national and international conferences.

Negar remains passionate about advancing occupational therapy practice, particularly in paediatric care and contributing to the understanding and treatment of AD/HD through her research and clinical expertise.).
